Patanjali has now become a household name, as Indian Consumer goods market has evolved dramatically. Patanjali has been successful in reintroducing ayurveda and yoga as a mainstay of Indian household. It has magically change the landscape of consumer products of herbal and ayurvedic products; consumer acceptance of ayurveda and herbal product has increased. This has pushed consumer goods giants like Hindustan Unilever, Colgate and Loreal to explore and rethink this segment.
Recently Sri Sri tattva, consumer line set up by spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar of Art of Living foundation has announced to fully enter this segment by opening 1000 stores nationwide and in 2015 SSA(Sri Sri Ayurveda Trust) foundation had tie up with retail king Kishore Biyani's Future Group(Big Bazar).
These stores will compete head to head with Patanjali stores and has adapted similar model like baba Ramdev's. It is encouraging to see spiritual leaders competing for the big pie in this arena.
Can Art of Living Master Art of Selling?
Our astrologer was ask this question and we have used prashna kundli method to answer this particular question. We feels it will be difficult for Sri Sri products to be successful in the Indian market, it will go through lot of initial turbulence, It seems SSA may have to re-adjust their products couple of time to gain some popularity, SSA may find some success in sales by channelizing their sales of products to a segment of consumer groups and or may have to focus only on few products which may get them some success. It will not be able to gain popularity in international market.
